ABOUT WOMENSTRUST

This leading microfinance organization is dedicated to alleviating poverty through empowerment; it not only gives impoverished entrepreneurs in Ghana the necessary loans to expand their businesses, but it has also instituted a scholarship program in Pokuase's local public schools for its brightest girl students.

In Ghana, fewer than 50% of girls finish Junior High School; research clearly shows that when girls are educated, all quality-of-life indicators improve: educated women have smaller families, live longer and healthier lives, and follow more stable economic paths.

***Teens Against Poverty will donate 100% of the money they receive to WomensTrust. Every $125 that the Teens Against Poverty club donates will provide a child with one year of education in Junior Secondary School.
